E3 2011 predictions and dreams: Nintendo

Nintendo E311 Predictions - playwisegaming.com
It always seems like Nintendo is the biggest wild card at E3. They can completely destroy all hope in their next console or wow everyone with the level of innovation they manage to pack into the hardware. As the oldest player on the block, Nintendo has the farthest to fall from it’s throne made of casual games and ancient franchises. Keep reading to see what playWISE thinks will, should and won’t happen at Nintendo’s E3 2011 press conference.

Nintendo had better …

Give us every last Wii 2/Project Cafe detail
Zelda in 1080p or bust.
Nintendo has already announced that they will be unveiling the Wii 2/Project Cafe (actual name unknown) at E3 this year. But I don’t just want a picture of the thing in a PowerPoint presentation. I want an on-stage demo with an accompanying price tag and release date.

Show several good 3DS games
Isn’t that an oxymoron?
The 3DS, like the DS before it, has had a rather slow launch. This is Nintendo’s chance to get people amped for this potentially game changing device by showing us what it’s really capable of. I want to see new 3DS entries in all the classic franchises — Metroid, Mario, Zelda, StarFox — and a few unknown titles to really pique my interest.
(benwade)

Show us a new first party IP
Let’s get the first party started!
Nintendo hasn’t shown a new first-party IP since “Pikmin,” and they seem to be OK with it. Instead, they have chosen to re-hash their current IPs to death, year after year. Nintendo IPs have given so much to gaming that it’s ludicrous to think they aren’t capable of creating something new for their fans.
(Jeremy Lloyd)

Show us hardcore games
Show as many core games as last year, and we’ll be happy.
Nintendo has become associated with casual gaming more than ever since the release of the Wii. This E3, they should focus on balance by offering something more for the hardcore gamer — or they may just lose the crowd altogether.
(Jeremy Lloyd)

Nintendo probably should …

Show off the game-changing element in “The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword”
Play “Song of Double Time” to get to this announcement twice as fast.
Call me naive, but I believe Shigeru Miyamoto. Directly after the release of “Twilight Princess,” its creator claimed that the next game in the Zelda franchise would significantly change the formula of the series. So far, this has not been the case with the demos shown of “Skyward Sword,” but I think there are still plenty of secrets up Link’s tunic.
(benwade)

Finally show something from “Pikmin 3”
Olimar, why do you torment me so?
Nintendo announced that there was work being done on Pikmin 3. That was three years ago, and there still isn’t any further public information on the game. I think we might see it on the Wii 2, but even if that isn’t the case it should at least be shown at this year’s E3.
(benwade)

Ditch motion controls for Wii2/Project Cafe
But what about all those great party compilation games?
The Wii had a great run and made us realize that Nintendo is here to stay as a console maker. Now it’s time for them to lose the motion controls and focus on something that third-party developers can actually make good games for.
(Jeremy Lloyd)

Show us why the 3DS needed to be 3D
Welcome to the third dimension … Not so different from the second, really.
Nintendo can show all the new 3DS games they want, but I need to see why they chose to use the 3-D technology. Nintendo should show games that incorporate 3-D into the gameplay and take advantage of the technology in a way that makes us never want to touch a 2-D game again.
(Jeremy Lloyd)

Nintendo would make all my dreams come true if …

They prove they can properly integrate online functionality into their next console
Can it Reggie. You are NOT already doing online.
Nintendo has a history of claiming its consoles have great online functionality when they clearly don’t. For the Wii 2 and the 3DS there needs to be a demo for every downloadable title, video chat, social networking, game lobbies — the whole nine yards. Welcome to the 21st century, Nintendo.
(benwade)

They abolished all friend codes
Your friends have names? Mine just go by a series of numbers.
This is my biggest beef with all of Nintendo’s products. I wouldn’t mind playing “Wii Play 37” with my friends, so long as I can actually find them online by some sort of screen name. I’m not sure if this is to detract from online stalking, but all it does is annoy me. Nintendo, get it off every system you’ve ever made — EVER.
(benwade)

The Wii 2 looks like something a hardcore gamer would want
Grand Theft Mario Kart, here we come!
I don’t think I can stomach another console cycle filled with bargain bin games such as “Calvin Tucker’s Redneck Jamboree.” I want to see Mario properties along with mature titles that can stand up to “Gears of War” and “Mass Effect.”
(Jeremy Lloyd)

They announce a revised 3DS
Five hours of fun is better than none, I guess.
Although unlikely, Nintendo already has so many issues that they can address with their newest handheld. The abysmal battery life and lackluster buttons are just a few of the many things Nintendo could fix in a new iteration of the hardware.
(Jeremy Lloyd)

Random E3 Dreams

  • Show space combat for “Mass Effect 3”
  • Announce a new IP from Rockstar

See what we think will happen at Sony’s and Microsoft’s conferences.

Great Vid!! I loved it!! But it will help with exercise baesuce most people don’t want to go outside and run and stuff, and the more expert the levels, the longer it takes and the more calories you burn. But I think I would rather go outside or do something. And I do great workouts everyday, being a gymnast, and daily conditioning everyday is pretty much my workout!! And boy is it tiring!!

Warning: Do not buy this if you are looking for a full wokuort or if you do not own the balance board.I purchased this thinking that it was a full cardio wokuort. Boy was I wrong. This is a boxing game the end. Although it’s fun at first and provides a little wokuort, overall for what I am looking for it was a waste of money. I would not recommend this to anyone.

I was under the impression that this would iuldnce using the balance board and other cardio exercises. Turns out that it barely uses the balance board and it is all boxing, that should be better explained. I will be giving it away, trading it in or throwing it out withing the next 24 hours

reason seemed to be on the web the simplest thing to be aware of.
I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people think about worries that they
plainly don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people can take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks

Thus, it can easily penetrate and rapidly get absorbed in your scalp and hair, thereby offering
quick and safe results. You can apply or mix it with
your soap or shampoo if they don’t already contain almond oil. It can be controlled fairly easily with the use of proprietary medicines such as aspirin, but travelling along with the use of any drugs are negative side-effects.
